I definitely want to play online, quick question though, what does the unofficial patch actually do? Is it just connectivity fixes for modern systems or are there gameplay tweaks? I played ren classic for close to 10 years since the game first came out but I took a long break and I've been itching to come back. In terms of Renegade X, it looks cool, but at the end of the day it is a still fan project with fan project problems as you've mentioned. It's all good though, I'm happy to have a legit physical copy. I had already ordered myself a copy of the game before seeing your post, haha. I really appreciate you taking the time to help. With this program, you don't need to have a valid serial key to play the game online. You can google it if you want to use that, it's a utility that shows you the server listing and allows you to join them without having to launch the game first. However, what I recommend you to use is Renlist 1.0.9. After updating your game, you can either use the link provided by another user as a guide to connect with WOL using XWIS (this allows you to use the in-game server listing).

It is extremely recommended to update the game with an unofficial patch, you can download it here: There are two ways to connect to multiplayer. Since you asked about the servers, I'll assume that you want to play online. Pretty much all the original developers quit, and EA doesn't allow the game to be published on steam. And i'll be honest here, Renegade X is in a really tough position currently. In fact, the current Renegade playerbase is even slightly larger than Renegade X's. I can give you a trustworthy download link if you want to. But I would personally tell you to just pirate the game, most people that still play the game did (even though that's not a valid reason on itself), and there's no other easy way if you want to avoid Origin (which is understandable, the C&C ultimate collection sells freeware games for money, and some of them don't work at launch).
